Kent Moran’s directorial debut, “The Challenger,” is partnering with Regal Cinemas for a limited theatrical release in 30+ theaters nationwide this September.

Moran stars in the film and plays Jaden Miller, a struggling Bronx auto mechanic who finds his calling in boxing. When Jaden finds himself at the brink of homelessness, he does everything in his power to prevent him and his mother (S. Epatha Merkerson) from living on the streets. With the help of legendary trainer Duane Taylor (Michael Clarke Duncan), Jaden finds that boxing could be his way to a better life.

“After receiving such a warm response from our festival audiences, we are excited to partner up with Regal Cinemas to release ‘The Challenger’ in multiple cities across the country,” said Moran. “The film was a labor of love, and it is pretty awesome that we can now bring it to a national audience.”

“The Challenger” will hit select theaters September 11.
